Tour with a English Guide: Natural Treasures of the Gold Coast

The pristine rainforests in the foothills of South-East Queensland are recognised as a unique natural phenomenon and are listed as UNESCO World Heritage sites.

In a single day's excursion with a English-speaking guide you can visit two world-famous National Parks and see just how diverse and unusual the nature of this region of Australia truly is, get to know striking examples of the rainforest's flora and fauna, and walk through some of the oldest jungle on the planet, holding secrets of survival dating back to the Jurassic period.

During this fascinating, scenic tour you will:

  • visit lookout points with breathtaking views over forested mountains and the stunning landscape of the vast Gold Coast hinterland
  • drive across a mountain plateau where farmers grow grapes and fruit for winemaking in the fertile volcanic soil. Optionally, stop to taste fragrant wines and aged ports (extra charge)
  • walk through the jungle along fast-flowing mountain streams, among palm groves and towering "flooded" eucalypts, strangler figs and exotic ferns
  • walk along an elevated suspension trail through the canopy of giant evergreen trees, watching for bright tropical birds and butterflies
  • take photos at the most photogenic waterfall in the region
  • visit a protected spot where you might see the unique Albert's lyrebird, an extraordinary mimic that has lost the ability to fly and instead uses its wings to run at speed
  • see an extraordinary natural phenomenon - a rock arch bridge carved by a waterfall
  • photograph a famous valley that Lonely Planet named the most beautiful in South-East Queensland
  • see charming mountain villages and historic towns, home to colourful pubs and small workshops dating back to the early settlers
  • During the tour, your English guide will suggest lunch at one of the popular restaurants with magnificent mountain panoramas, where you can also take photos with colourful parrots

All entrance tickets and lunch are not included in the tour price and are paid separately.
